Dynu gives you full control over all the DNS configurations for your domain names. You can log onto the control panel to manage your DNS records.

What is an A record?

An 'A' record, which stands for “address” is the most basic type of syntax used in DNS records, indicating the actual IP address of the domain. It maps an FQDN (fully qualified domain name) to an IP address.

How to add an A record?

To edit an 'A' record for a domain name, you may follow these 3 steps.

Listing Item Step 1

Log into control panel, go to Dynamic DNS Service Icon DDNS Services   and click on your domain name.

Listing Item Step 2

'A' record is automatically setup with your IP address when you sign up for dynamic DNS service. You may edit 'A' record for your domain name in the control panel.

IPv4 Address   Enter the IP address of your domain name. For example, 22.231.113.64. Leave empty if you want your IP to be updated dynamically.

Last Update   Last IP update time for your domain name(UTC-07:00).

Location   You can assign hostnames and aliases to locations. Locations can be used instead of hostname/aliases during IP update.

TTL   How long the server should cache the information.

Wildcard Alias   Check this option if you want all aliases point to the primary domain.

NOTE: To add an 'A' record for an alias, you can do it in Dynamic DNS Service Aliases Icon Aliases  section.

Listing Item Step 3

Check if your 'A' record has been setup correctly using DNS Lookup tool. Enter yourdomain.com as Hostname, and choose "A-IPv4 Alias" as Type.

Bulb Tooltip   Wildcard Alias

To point all your subdomains to your primary domain, you can enable "Wildcard Alias" for the domain name. All subdomains will automatically redirect to your primary domain. Please note that each separately configured subdomain (either with an 'A' record or a CNAME record) has priority over the wildcard configuration.
