The offline settings is a nice feature that does not always work so always double check to see if all the dns settings get changed for the a records as in about half the times they do not and the site does not go to the offline page. The same thing applies when shutting off the setting as if the dns is incomplete on all a settings it will not work. This is not an isolated event as it happens to me about half the time very fustrating
