Topic: Use CNAME in lieu of A record
I have a Mikrotik router running routerOS. The router has a ddns function which connects with Micritik and updates the ip address of a particular url (like alphanumstring.sn.mynetname.net).I have seen, for example on no-ip.com, that you can configure the hostname with a CNAME record and no A record is created. Also, on the Mikrotic forums, posters have said that this will work with a CNAME and no A records on other ddns providers. So how would that be done, if possible?1. Add a CNAME likewww.mydomain.com 120 CNAME alphanumstring.sn.mynetname.net2. Delete A recordsCurious,PS. I know there are scripts which can run on the MT routers to update dynu ddns but it appears that the script can only update on domain at a time. I currently use ddclient and it works fine to do 3 domains at a time.

I have the same question too. Gordon, if you had a headway on this aspect and knew/learnt information related to this, I would like to know. I have the exact same requirement.
