System monitoring is a service that continuously checks the health and availability of your servers and online services from multiple points of presence around the world. Our monitoring service verifies that your services are reachable and responding correctly at all times. When an issue is detected, you will be notified immediately so that you can take action to minimize downtime. Combined with our DNS failover service, traffic can be automatically redirected to a backup host whenever your primary service becomes unavailable. Setting up monitoring for the first time is quick and easy through our intuitive control panel.

How to sign up for monitoring service?

You may click here to start a 14-day monitoring and DNS failover service trial. During the trial period, you will have full access to all monitoring features so that you can evaluate whether the service meets your needs.

Sign Up for Monitoring Service

After clicking the link above, you will be directed to the Monitoring & Failover section of your control panel. If you do not have a Dynu account yet, you will need to create one before signing up for the monitoring service. Once you are logged in, follow the on-screen instructions to activate your trial.

What can be monitored?

Our monitoring service supports a variety of monitor types to suit different needs. You can set up monitors to check DNS resolution, HTTP/HTTPS services, SSL certificate expiration, specific keywords on web pages, ping (ICMP) reachability, and services running on custom ports. Each monitor type is designed to verify a specific aspect of your service's availability and functionality.

How does monitoring work?

Once you have set up a monitor, our servers will check your service at regular intervals from multiple geographic locations. If a check fails, additional verifications are performed from other monitoring nodes to confirm the issue is not localized. Once an outage is confirmed, you will receive a notification via email, and if DNS failover is configured, your DNS records will be automatically updated to point to your backup server. When your primary service is back online, traffic will be restored automatically.
